Welcome to the Westfield Softball Blog

Dear Parents, Players and Residents of Westfield;

Welcome to the Girls Softball League of Westfield's blog. The purpose of this blog is to receive feedback from parents and participants of Westfield Softball so that the GSLW can monitor all of our programs, teams, players and everything else about softball we can hear about. We welcome all comments and CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. This blog will be monitored daily and inappropriate posts deleted immediately.

If you like, you may always email me directly at President@WestfieldSoftball.org.

Looking forward to hearing all of your comments!

  1. I have to say--Westfield Softball has really made some improvements these last 12 months to new things they are offering...keep up the good work!

  2. My daughter is in K/1 league and I have to say, so far I have been impressed to see it is well organized, with an emphasis on skill. What a great bonus to have the two high school clinics. The girls really enjoyed them

  3. with all the rainouts we have had perhaps the league should put make the season longer so the girls do not have to play four or five games in a weeks time. My daughters team will play 4 games in four days and that is asking alot for this time of year with end of year school stuff happening.

  4. I see the forecast is for no rain until tonight and noted that the fields are currently closed. I'd like to be able to rely on that closure notice but have seen this change in the past. Could we get a few more settings like "Tentitive" or "No Way the fields will be open".

  5. Second Class Citizens...
    The Girls clearly continue to get the short end of the stick this weekend as boys games were played all over town -while the fields that the girls are "allotted" are not kept up to the boys standards,.....This really is very unfair and for the older girls it may cause problems getting in playoff games....
    Not the GSLW fault- its the town of Westifeld and its treatment of girls softball....What a shame.

  6. Improvements this spring to fields M1 and M4 were great to see..Hopefully funding will be available to improve M2 and M3 in the same way.. Another easy improvement would be to relocate one of the bleachers from field M1, which has two, to field M2, which has none..

  7. I see other towns have families post a work bond at sign-up that helps to finance projects, infrastructure or provide bodies to work on the projects. This seems to be a win-win for the league.

  8. Thanks for posting my photos of the Extreme team. It was a pleasure watching those girls play and I am glad you chose some of my images. Perhaps next year we can get access on the field and catch all of the action. Cheers - Wayne Craig
